Chad & Gina Herrick
I became a SCUBA diver in the summer of 1988. I still remember the day and my first dive after being “legit”. Since then I have returned to the Goldfish bowl at Anacapa island on numerous occasions and it is as beautiful now as the first time I was there.
Since that time my passion for diving and the underwater world has continued to grow. I am never disappointed when I venture beneath the surface and see amazing creations both large and small. As a kid I dreamed of one day being a wildlife photographer. Traveling the world in search of the most amazing and wonderful creatures and capturing their existence through photography. Perhaps I was watching too many episodes of Wild Kingdom and anything Cousteau but such are the dreams of a young boy.
After high school I attended Santa Barbara City College and Completed the Marine Diving Technology program. Graduating in 1990 and moving to Louisiana I began a career in commercial diving. After a short time in the Gulf of Mexico I moved back to my home sate of California and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering form California State University, Fresno in 1996.
Today I work as a Design Build Mechanical contractor in Southern California. Diving and photography are my passions and I continue to dive regularly in my home waters and travel frequently.
I thank you for visiting this site and hope that you enjoy the photography.
Gina became PADI Open Water diver in 2002 in Cancun, Mexico. She has continued to dive with Chad when they travel and obtained her Advance Open Water Certification in Grenada the summer of 2017.
Over the years Gina has become an expert travel agent in addition to being a great critter spotter. She loves to travel and hopes to continue exploring new places and experiencing the underwater world around the globe.
